How to make a strong advert for the newsletter

Want to get the most out of your advert in our newsletter?

Here’s a short and practical guide to creating advertising content that delivers value – both for you as an advertiser and for the newsletter’s readers.

Focus on value – not just promotion

Newsletter readers tend to scan quickly. That means your advert needs to give them a clear reason to click.
Think: What’s in it for the reader if they click on your ad?

Examples of good reasons to click on your advert:

  • “Get 10% off your first order”
  • “Sign up for a free webinar on the future of promotional products”
  • “Download our e-book on trends in the promotional industry”


Best practices for effective content:

Headline

  • Keep it short and to the point (max. 10–15 words)
  • Highlight value or spark curiosity

Body text

  • 2–3 lines (max. 200 characters)
  • Tell the reader what to expect – and why it matters

Call-to-action (CTA)

  • For example: “Read more”, “Get the offer”, “Sign up now”
  • Make sure the CTA matches the landing page experience

Design and materials to send us:

Image:

  • Format: See image format requirements here
  • Use an image that supports your message – avoid generic-looking stock photos
  • You're welcome to include your logo

Text:

  • Please provide editable text (Word document or in the body of an email)
  • Don’t forget correct links to landing pages


Where should your advert link to?

You have two options:

  • Link to your own landing page

Ideal if you have a campaign page, product, registration form or other specific content.
Important: The page must be mobile-friendly and quick to load.


  • Link to your section on our website

If you have an ad, article, interview or company profile featured on our site, this can be a great option.
It adds credibility and gives the reader a consistent experience.


Examples of headlines or CTAs:

Strong advert:
Get 15% off your next order
Order before Sunday and receive 15% off our full range.

Less effective advert:
We've updated our webshop
Check it out and see what’s new.
